Petroleum Systems Analyses can be conducted at the basin scale to determine the likelihood that a working petroleum system exists.  Where detailed data is available, more detailed analyses can be performed down to field and reservoir scale investigations.

High resolution 3D models simulate reservoir filling using specially modified invasion percolation algorithms.  These operate on porosity and permeability values derived from seismic data to determine structural traps and accumulations where the oil and gas is located. The largest accumulations can be identified and reserve estimates obtained to quantify the amounts of oil and gas which may be present.

Permafrost Applications

Ambercore's scientific team has experience designing engineering solutions and simulation software for the construction of gas pipeline supports ideally suitable for permafrost conditions. The supports are built using Cryostat technology to reliably maintain stable sub zero temperatures with no maintenance.

Ambercore's technology can also be used to determine how, over time, the construction of a pipeline affects the condition of the permafrost in its immediate vicinity. Specific parts of a pipeline can be identified as danger points with regard to permafrost melting.
