TITAN® Mobile Laser Scanning System Delivered to David Evans and Associates

Ottawa, Canada Tuesday, December 16, 2008 – The TITAN® division of Ambercore, a leading global provider of high performance spatial software and services, is pleased to announce the successful delivery of a TITAN® system to David Evans and Associates (DEA).

The TITAN® system collects engineering grade corridor survey information at highway speeds. This dramatically increases the rate at which high accuracy data can be collected for highway design and other uses. It also greatly increases the safety for the surveyors and operators by removing them from the traffic stream. The system was developed based on two decades of experience building and operating advanced survey systems based on GPS and emerging technologies. The TITAN® system has successfully completed over 80 projects in North America to date. TITAN® collects a 360 degree tunnel of data as it moves down the highway capturing the roadway as well as all features within the right of way. TITAN®’s advanced positioning system allows it to function successfully in areas where GPS visibility is not 100% available.

Representatives from DEA were onsite at our Houston office for testing and acceptance of the TITAN ® system the week of December 15th. The system was installed on their designated vehicle, and then two days of rigorous testing was undertaken to verify that the system met the requirements and specifications of the contract. The acceptance test was successful and the system measurement performance exceeded specifications.

“Working with Terrapoint staff during the installation helped advance our knowledge of the TITAN® system. We tested the data at various ranges and the system met the all specifications the first time”, said Marcus Reedy, Director of Surveying and Mapping at David Evans and Associates Inc.

“We were able to deliver the TITAN® system to DEA exactly on schedule, with the hand off to DEA technical personnel after a week of joint trials and acceptance testing”, said James Ferguson, President of the TITAN® division. “It was a proud moment for all involved in the build and delivery process.”
