Ambercore Develops Powerful LiDAR Processing Engine

Ottawa, Canada, March 31, 2006 – Ambercore Software Inc., a leading global provider of high performance spatial software and services for Energy and Mining industries, has announced today that it has developed a new LiDAR processing engine.

In recent years, LiDAR technology has resulted in ever increasing sizes of high-resolution data sets which standard industry software has not been able to process proficiently. The new LiDAR engine is able to process an unlimited number of points faster than any competing industry software. Ambercore’s patented technology enables extremely efficient building of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) from billions of LiDAR points stored in a single file, rather than thousands of separate files, while pyramid indexing enables rapid retrieval for display and processing.

“We have developed LiDAR capabilities in response to increasing market demand for efficient processing of high resolution data sets,” said Martin Sendyk, President and CEO of Ambercore.“The patented structure of the LiDAR engine is unique in its ability to handle infinitely more points than any existing LiDAR processing software.”
