Ambercore Spatial Geobase - A Closer Look

Intelligent Organization for Large Spatial Data

A combination spatial data management system and repository, the Ambercore Spatial GeoBase (ASGB) provides advanced intelligent organization for large spatial data.  Its components support:

  • Data Relations describing the relationships and interconnectivity between data sets, tracking their origin from raw data and their historical path through various processes
  • Data Integrity allowing all data models to be automatically recalculated and updated if the original data is changed
  • Specific Queries enabling users to select the appropriate data through spatial and semantic conditions and constraints

These three elements combine to form a powerful spatial data management process unique to the ASGB.

The Ambercore Spatial GeoBase is best in class with a powerful architectural design built to especially handle large quantities of spatial data efficiently.  It also supports the open data paradigm, being able to integrate original raw data with simulation results from various sources.  The Ambercore Spatial GeoBase:

  • Guarantees a high level of  simulation consistency by keeping all integrated data components in a unified geo database
  • Provides flexible data manipulation capabilities, data-model integrity and even automated data filtering and generalization required by certain models
  • Stores the original raw data as well as various data models (including stratigraphy, grade, geological and other) derived through manual, semi-automated and fully automated processes
  • Stores models produced by internal applications or external 3rd party software
  • Allows comparison of results for different what-if scenarios and different models through a unified data access approach

Instead of the traditional methodology of treating spatial and non-spatial data differently, the ASGB provides a unified approach.  This unlocks many benefits and provides a solution to the difficulties, inconsistencies and disruptions of the traditional approach.  Energy and Mining production activities can gain significantly from planning simulations and analysis of what-if scenarios.  These benefits unlocked by the ASGB allow the assessment of alternative production plans prior to initiating expensive operations.
