Ambercore Enterprise Server System - A Closer Look

Scalability, Reliability, Extensibility

The Ambercore Enterprise Server System (ESS) is the glue that holds the company’s spatial business processes together and enables users to execute business goals across the organization. It is the universal enterprise platform for inter-application distributed data communication.  The ESS allows an organization to progress from simple data integration to a fully transformed on-demand business model support system.  The Ambercore Enterprise Server System:

  • Is designed to allow multi-user access to remote large volume geographic & engineering data
  • Allows for easy dissemination of 2D/3D volume analytical modeling results
  • Provides seamless integration of distributed geographical and engineering data
  • Allows for more effective use of departmental skills and resources
  • Improves enterprise-wide knowledge management and decision support capabilities
  • Reduces data redundancy as well as overall maintenance and support costs
  • Improves tight integrity of existing information including the data bridge with existing databases such as Oracle™ and Microsoft SQL Server™ as well as GIS and mining applications like ESRI™ and MicroMine™
  • Runs on standard Windows™ platform

Based on business specific knowledge, the Ambercore ESS represents a coherent accumulation of principles, workflows and models that support the enterprise’s organizational structure, business process and existing informational infrastructure.  Being spatial information management oriented, the Ambercore ESS is designed to:

  • Automate and support business processes rather than focus on traditional Geo-Informational System (GIS) workflows
  • Take full advantage of an open spatially-enabled IT infrastructure
  • Present business value of geospatial capabilities within enterprise systems
  • Manage spatial data quality as part of the overall enterprise data quality strategy
  • Support GIS data analytic capabilities in concert with business analytics

Enterprise Server System Architecture

The ESS Central server works as the data communication center.  It keeps track of the locations and volume of the stored data, controls data access permissions and regulates data flows based on network capacities.

Different data repositories distributed across the corporate network that require viewing through the ESS will be equipped with special software components responsible for data publishing, preparation and communication with the central server and Ambercore client software components.

Enterprise Server System Architecture

Important technical advantages of the Ambercore ESS architecture include:

  • Multi-tier distributed architecture
  • Vector, raster and 3D models remote viewing capabilities
  • Multi-format support with open architecture allowing integration of external data formats
  • Easy scalability
  • Distributed geographical data integration
  • Dynamic data access capabilities
  • Unified asynchronous data exchange protocol
  • Robust security, management and conflict resolution via a Web based interface

The Ambercore ESS can work seamlessly with all leading vendor data types featuring complete data compatibility with the ability to import and export, dynamically share and manipulate data from/to different proprietary formats.
